Formed in Manchester in the early 1990s the Konkomas emerged from the ‘Madchester’ years with a high energy percussive vibe. Primarily playing African rhythms the band entertained many pubs around Manchester and Macclesfield. With the arrival of later members a more hybrid vibe of latin and jazz influenced melodies and beats evolved. Today the band has an Anglo-Dutch relationship (Pheasant resides in Holland). Playing together and writing are still top priorities for this gang of musicians.
